    Science on Wheels

The Texas Colorado River flows some 600 miles southeast to Matagorda Bay on the Gulf. For many Texans, this river that winds through the great state is a major source of water. Now, the Colorado River Alliance is bringing that river experience to teens across the state, free of charge.

The Texas Colorado River Rolling Exhibit

This 42-foot cutting-edge science center on wheels is full of electronic games and interactive models that allow students to learn about conservation.

“There is a unique look and feel to the Texas Colorado River Rolling Exhibit, and 3M was an important part of that. The system is stunning,” says Geoff Hensgen, program director, Colorado River Alliance. “It is a fact that when you watch kids come inside the trailer they go ‘whoa’ – you hear these gasps – this is coming from the ambiance this trailer has both inside and out.”

“It’s an empowering program that brings powerful resources to the fingertips of teachers. That’s really the power of partnerships between organizations like the Alliance and 3M. We can combine resources and truly bring things to school systems that are desperately needed.”
