3M™ Scotchcast™ Resin 470 is a two-component polyurethane resin designed for room temperature curing, providing electrical insulation and mechanical protection for electrical cable joints. With integrated pouring nozzle and opener with pour spout.
Scotchcast™ Resin 470 resin cures at room temperature and generates only a low exothermic reaction temperature. Thanks to its excellent hydrolytic stability, the premium resin is also suitable for long term underwater applications. It adheres well to both metal and various plastics and is ideal for insulation, sealing, and mechanical protection in low voltage applications. The practical two chamber bag contains coordinated amounts of resin and hardener, which can be combined into a homogeneous mixture simply by tearing open the separation seam and then kneading the bag. The transparency of the bag allows visual inspection during mixing. With the CMP system (Closed Mixing and Pouring), contact with the casting resin during processing is virtually eliminated. After pouring, the mixing bag with the remaining cured resin can be disposed of in normal household waste. Special waste disposal is not required.
